Let us help you calculate your cost of production and compare your operation to industry benchmarks. Attend one of our Dairy Managment "Tune-Up" Workshops held at the following dates and locations:

• Wednesday, March 17 - AgChoice Farm Credit Susquehanna Valley Office, Lewisburg, Pa.

• Wednesday, March 24 - Edgewood Restaurant and Dairy, Troy, Pa.

Read any current dairy publication and you are likely to find at least one article discussing the importance of knowing your cost of production, developing a risk management strategy for your farm or measuring your operation against industry benchmarks. It is also important to track your farm's performance over several years to measure your own progress.

These hands-on workshops will allow you to use your own farm records to assess your performance. We'll help you get the numbers that will help you understand your costs better than before and assist you in decision-making. You'll also learn what performance levels are being achieved and where you stand in comparison to the top 25 percent producers.

The attached worksheet lists everything that you will need for this workshop. Please bring four years worth of data (2006 through 2009). However, don't let this intimidate you. If you only have two years of data, that is fine. The more data you have, the better it will be to analyze a trend or average.

Because you will be using your own numbers, we will organize the workshop space to maintain confidentiality. If you have questions, please contact your AgChoice loan officer.
